The Nu Image Race to Base is a fun, challenging navigation race across Norfolk for teams of 3-4 people. You will be dropped randomly at a secret location somewhere across Norfolk, 12 miles from the base, and you must find your bearings and navigate your way back without the use of technology, and without transport.

No phones or smart watches

No maps of any kind

No transport

So, what’s involved?

On Friday 11th September, we will be dropping teams of 3-4 people off at their undisclosed starting point, 12 miles away from our studio location on Thorpe Road.

It’s down to those teams to find their way back to the studio and the first team back wins. Sounds simple? Well, use of any technology*, maps or transport are a big no-no and will find you disqualified from the race.

*Each team will have a live GPS tracker and a security bag carrying one mobile phone. The phone cannot be viewed or used to help in the challenge, it is purely for emergencies. Should the bag be opened for any reason, this will forfeit your entry.

There will be prizes for first team back, best dressed and biggest fundraisers.

Think you’ve got what it takes?

We are looking for local businesses to get involved and form teams to compete in Nu Image’s Race to Base. It is a game that will test your teamwork, resourcefulness and local knowledge.

  • The event will take place on 11/09/2026

  • Teams can be between 3-4 people

  • The team entry fee is £100+vat

What else are we committing to?

Every team needs to raise a minimum of £250 per team to fulfil the challenge requirements.

Why are we doing it?

As well as celebrating the great businesses of Norfolk, and enjoying the beautiful scenery, the Nu Image Race to Base is raising money for Norwich City Community Sports Foundation, a local charity that empowers people through sport and community.

They create safe spaces to support and inspire people, and run a variety of community and inclusion based projects, such as:

– Coffee and Comrades, coffee mornings for veterans and serving personnel to socialise.
– Duncans Club, a support programme for people with dementia.
– Pan-Disability Football, inclusive sessions for players of all abilities.
– And many more.

    Have a question?

If you’ve got any questions, by all means reach out and we will be happy to help. We’ve also tried to answer some of the key ones below.

Race to Base officially finishes when the last team crosses the line, but you will be greeted with food, music and celebrations, sure to run into the evening.

No, absolutely not. Initial spaces are limited to 20 teams, but we will try to accommodate as many people as we possibly can, so if you think you are up to it, register an interest. If spaces are full we will add you to the waitlist.

Anything comfortable and bright, but there will also be a prize for best dressed. If you would like branded event t-shirts they are available through the Community Sports Foundation for £20 per person.

    Up to 4.

Each team will have a GPS tracker sending live locations back to base. This means we can keep an eye on you from base, so we won’t leave you out in the dark. We will also be doing spot visits on the road to capture content on the day, so you won’t be lost in the wilderness for long, and each team will be permitted one phone in a sealed security bag which cannot be used to help the challenge…but is there for emergencies.

In the event of an emergency the bag containing a phone can be opened, but be aware that this will forfeit your position in our final standings. You can still eat with us though.

Yes, of course. Everyone is welcome at the finish line, however parking will be limited so it may be best to utilise city based car parks and walk up, or use public transport (we have a bus stop right outside the studio).

We will have a base phone which you are welcome to share the number of with your nearest and dearest.  We will also have tracking on you from base, so should there be an emergency we will come to you.
