A fun, challenging navigation race across Norfolk

We will be dropping 16 teams of 3-4 people off at their undisclosed starting point, 12 miles away from our studio location on Thorpe Road.

It’s down to those teams to find their way back to the studio and the first team back wins. Sounds simple? Well, use of any technology*, maps or transport are a big no-no and will find you disqualified from the race.

*Each team will have a live GPS tracker and a security ziplock bag carrying one mobile phone. The phone cannot be viewed or used to help in the challenge, it is purely for emergencies. Should the bag be opened for any reason, this will forfeit a finishing position.

What to expect on the day?

  • The race is taking place on 11th September 2026

  • We will be dropping 16 teams off blindly across Norfolk

  • There will be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams

No phones or smart watches

No maps of any kind

No transport

So, who’s on the starting line?

What is the race for?

This is all in aid of raising awareness and funding for the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation. A charity very close to our hearts, particularly for our director Emily.

The Community Sports Foundation do an incredible amount of work to create safe spaces for disabled and vulnerable people across Norfolk, through the power of sport and activity. Working to build individuals confidence, make them feel a part of a community, and inspire them to be more than they ever thought possible.

They run a variety of different programmes and workshops, including but not limited to:

  • Realising Potential programme designed to empower individuals with disabilities and special educational needs
  • Coffee and Comrades, coffee mornings for veterans and serving personnel to socialise
  • Duncans Club, a support programme for people with dementia
  • Pan-Disability Football, inclusive sessions for players of all abilities

Not in a team but want to get involved?

It’s not just our teams that have been generous for this fundraiser, numerous local businesses have kindly donated prizes for our charity raffle in order to raise more money on the day. From a picnic boat hire for the day to a tray of freshly baked cinnamon buns to a signed Norwich City shirt. And many many more.

If you would like to donate a prize to the charity raffle, we would be extremely grateful. Please contact hello@nuimage.co.uk to arrange details. Thank you.

    Have a question?

If you’ve got any questions, by all means reach out and we will be happy to help. We’ve also tried to answer some of the key ones below.

Race to Base officially finishes when the last team makes it back to the studio. Based on different paces, we estimate this to be any time between 2-4pm.

We will be live tracking each team with GPS devices and will be sharing live updates on our Instagram – @nuimagestudio – from our support team who will be out and about checking in on the teams.

There are numerous ways to support on the day, simply checking on our socials and sending words of encouragement to the teams here will be appreciated. However, if you would like to be more involved, every team has a Just Giving page where they’re raising money which you can donate to (including our own two teams), or you can purchase a ticket for the charity raffle we’ll be hosting on the day.

Yes, of course. Everyone is welcome at the finish line, however parking will be limited so it may be best to utilise city based car parks and walk up, or use public transport (we have a bus stop right outside the studio).

As a team, navigate your way back to our studio from your drop off location without:

    – Any mode of transport
    – No technology such as phones or smart watches
    – No money
    – No maps

Each team has to cross the line all together to qualify for a finishing place, and without opening their ziplock bag holding their emergency phone and tracking device.

If you finish 1st, 2nd or 3rd, you will win a prize, and exclusive bragging rights for being oh so speedy.

We will also have a prize for the team who raises the most amount of money, this will be tallied up after the event.

Everybody who completes the challenge in their team will receive a medal.
