Supporting our team with a REAL living wage

We are proud to have been accredited as a Real Living Wage employer. Actually, it happened over a month ago… but turns out we have neglected to let you all know!

So, what is the Real Living Wage?

The real Living Wage is the only UK wage rate based on the cost of living. Unlike the set minimum wage which is compulsory, it is a higher amount, voluntarily paid by UK businesses who believe their staff deserve a wage which meets everyday needs, not just the basics.

We are in good company too, alongside other “employee first” businesses, from independent Norfolk businesses, all the way through to whopping big household names such as Nationwide, LUSH, and Chelsea FC.

Why did we decide to support the initiative?

Nicole, Nu Image’s Operations Director explains.

“The decision to become a Real Living Wage employee, to be honest, was not a difficult one. We as businesses are not the only ones feeling the pressure of rising costs, of course our staff are too. Ultimately our employees are the heart of our company, and it is important that we take the steps we can to support them, by ensuring everyone is fairly paid and able to afford to live without being concerned about not being able to pay for unexpected costs. In real terms we have delivered above and beyond the living wages across all staff, with average pay rises over the past year sitting at 17%. We are committed to support and invest in our people.”
