We have a big announcement… Our Director, Emily, has won ‘The Leader’ award at the 2025 Norfolk Women’s Marketing Network Awards!
For those who don’t know, the Norfolk Women’s Marketing Network runs a calendar of events throughout the year, designed to help marketers connect, learn and empower each other. The highlight is their annual awards evening, where female talent across the county is recognised and celebrated.
This year, the Nu Image team joined the celebrations as Emily was shortlisted for ‘The Leader’ category. Also nominated was Rebecca Lyon from Norwich Theatre and Zoe Francis-Cox from Dialogue Agency, both talented women who have a track record of leading successful teams. Together, we had a brilliant evening of music, bubbles and catching up with other local businesses. And to top it all off, Emily won.
We’ve always known how brilliant Emily is, but it means the world to see her recognised by industry professionals and to see her celebrated alongside such an inspiring line-up of women.

A journey shaped by curiosity and commitment
Emily’s journey with Nu Image began over eight years ago, when she joined as an apprentice. From day one, she showed determination, creativity and commitment, qualities which have seen her promoted to various roles. She has climbed up the ranks, from Digital Marketing Apprentice to Digital Marketing Executive through to our Head of Digital, and most recently in 2024, she became a Director.
Her progression reflects more than hard work. Emily has always led with curiosity, kindness and an openness to keep learning. Characteristics that have shaped Nu Image’s team culture and strengthened the way we work with clients.
Her leadership has contributed to some incredible moments, both for Nu Image and the businesses we work alongside. Highlights include:
- Playing a part in the creation of the ‘Women Rock Construction’ and ‘Spot the Signs’ campaigns for Rockthorn, which saw them become finalists at the Hire Awards of Excellence 2024
- Driving long-term client growth through effective marketing strategies. With highlights including nearly quadrupling a client’s leads in the first year, and helping another client (who lost all sources of income during the Covid-19 lockdowns) increase their online sales by over 4,000% by strengthening their digital presence.
- Supporting our team as we became finalists at the 2017 EDP’s Small Business of the Year Awards.
- Helping to raise over £10,000 through various fundraising work, including the EACH auction, our 24-hour challenges including the cycle for Endometriosis UK and walking laps around Whitlingham Lake for The Feed, and recently, rowing a marathon for the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation.
A leader who lifts others
‘The Leader’ award gives recognition to people, like Emily, who have guided others in a managerial role. While results matter, true leadership is also about everyday actions, supporting colleagues, encouraging fresh ideas and creating an environment where people thrive.
As Damien Berry, Head of Marketing at Signs Express, and the judge who presented the award on the night, said: A leader is not just about coordinating a team or driving big business results. A good leader is also someone who can uplift and inspire their colleagues, and who genuinely cares about their team.
That is exactly what Emily does. Always the first person to greet you with a smiley “good morning” at the start of the day, and she will always stay late if her team needs extra support. Her genuine care for her team is felt by us all, every day in the office. She is the definition of a leader who lifts others.

Celebrating into the future
Winning ‘The Leader’ award is a milestone that perfectly reflects Emily’s journey so far. We’re incredibly proud of everything she has achieved, and even more excited to see the next chapter unfold as she continues to drive Nu Image forward.
To the Norfolk Women’s Marketing Network, thank you for recognising leaders like Emily and for creating a space where women in marketing can celebrate, connect and grow. We are very excited for the East Anglian Marketing Awards next year.
And to Emily, what a journey it has been. From apprentice to Director, and now award-winning leader. You are the epitome of hard work, curiosity and kindness, and an inspiration to us all. Thank you for being our leader.
